Evelyn ANDERS, 86 years was born Evelyn THOMPSON, 12 October 1916, Dalton, Nebraska. Schooled at Bridgeport & Northport. Married to Herman J. ANDERS, at Bridgeport, Nebraska. (Husband died on 20 Nov 1981) Worked for UPRR (Union Pacific Railroad). Lived: Cheyenne, Wyoming. She lived with a daughter at Mead, Nebraska for last 3 years. Mrs. ANDERS died on Friday, 9 May 2003, Fremont, Nebraska. Funeral: Tuesday, 13 May (2003) at First Presbyterian Church, Wahoo. Svoboda Funeral Home, Wahoo in charge. Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Cheyenne, Wyoming. Survived by a daughter, 2 sons, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

CALDEN EUGENE ANDERSON

Calden Eugene ANDERSON, 84 years. - born 29 Jan 1919, Minden, Nebraska. Parents: Carl ANDERSON and Mildred HANSEN. 1926: farm in Morrill County 1939: Married Ruby HENDRIX (deceased in 1983). Was business owner in Bayard, & electrician; returned to farm in 1977. 1984: Married second time. Mr. ANDERSON died: Tuesday, 22 Apr 2003, Bayard, Nebraska. Graveside service Thursday at Bayard Cemetery. Bayard Memorial Chapel in charge. Memorials to Boys Ranch in Alliance, Chimney Rock Villa Nursing Home (Bayard), or Assembly of God Church in Bayard. Survived by 2nd wife, 2 sons, 3 grandchildren. Also, 3 step-daughters, and a brother in California. Predeceased by first wife, parents, 3 children, and a brother, Dallas.

JOHN ARRANTS

John ARRANTS, 73, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Tom Hansen officiating. Burial will be at Kearney Cemetery with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 759 and American Legion Post 52 of Kearney. He was born March 4, 1930, in Morrill County to John and Elsie (Fiscus) Arrants. He attended rural schools in Morrill County. On July 3, 1951, he married Ethel Neumeyer in Bridgeport. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He returned to the ranch at Mitchell. In 1958, the couple moved to Mullen, and he ran the Jewel Diner. In 1968, the couple moved to Burwell where he worked for Burwell Community Hospital. In 1972, the couple moved to Kearney. He was director of environmental services at Good Samaritan Hospital until he retired in 1997. He was a member of the church in Kearney, the American Legion in Mullen, VFW in Kearney, the Nebraska Association of Institutional Linen Management, American Society of Healthcare Environmental Services, American Hospital Association, National Executive Housekeepers Association Inc., Nebraska Healthcare Housekeepers Association and officiated the Nebraska Hospital Association. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting for arrowheads, woodworking, reading, traveling and spending time with family. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim; two daughters; two sisters; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
