"But that�s what the perpetrators of this history�Bob Flasnick and Mildred Calkins�are doing. While working on the book, they became enthralled with the story that the future 22nd and 24th president of the United States sired a daughter named Ella Shaw who died as a teenager and is buried just a few steps north of the cemetery�s veterans� memorial. According to her tombstone, Ella was born July 9, 1874, and died May 8, 1890, possibly at Orleans, then was buried at Alma."
