Nebraska Military Photo from 1920s

Franklin County Nebraska
Possibly an ROTC Photo taken in 1925
At the University of Nebraska at Lincoln

Below is a photo that I am trying to identify the people in. I have been told my Grandfather, Walter Richter (3rd row up, 4th from the right) was never in the U.S. Military Service. However, I have this photo with him in it that looks military.

UNL has confirmed that my Grandfather did attend UNL in Pharmacy in 1925. We have consulted with the historical staff at UNL. They tell me that even though they do not have a photo on file for the ROTC Class of 1925, the photo is very similar to other years of that era. With this photo, we are guessing he was enrolled in the ROTC on campus while attending UNL.

My Grandfather was born in Franklin County in 1906. Too young for WWI. He married in 1928 and moved to Morrill, Nebraska where he lived for a time until his wife died in 1939. He then moved back to Naponee, Franklin County, Nebraska with his two young children.

The young men in this photo must all be from the 1925 UNL ROTC group. If anyone can further identify the photo or anyone in it, please let me know by emailing me at this link. Thanks!
