In Hettinger, Adams County, North Dakota there was a jewelry store owned by Matt Halverson and wife Palma (Torgerud). Palma was my Aunt.

Palma Viola Torgerud was born 18 January 1896 at Holt Twp., Filmore Co., Minnesota the daughter of Martin and Betsey (Rustad) Torgerud. She was married 29 October 1921 at St. Paul, Minnesota to Matt Halverson who was born 1 January 1883 (I know not where). Matt died at Hettinger, North Dakota, several years before Palma did. Palma died 2 December 1973 at Hettinger, North Dakota. They had no children.

Matt also owned a jewelry store at Mott, North Dakota which was bought out by my cousin Dean Johnson. He is the son of Delia Johnson, a sister of Palma's. Palma was one of nine girls and four boys.
