THE CATHEY BIBLE
(Gleanings, Vol 3. No. 1, Jan-Mar 1996)

The records of the Cathey's are from an old bible that was in the possession of the late Ralph Grier, Jr. It came down through the family on his mother's side. She was Nell Brown, daughter of William J. Brown & Mary Francis Cathey. The Bible is in very bad condition and very old. The 1750-1760 records appear to have been cut out of an even older bible and pasted in the front and back covers of this old bible, however, it appears they may have been recopied as the handwritting of the 1750-1760 records are in the same old script of the bible printed in the mid 1800s. (copied as written in the old bible)

Sarah Cathey was born June 24th 1773 and was married June 6th 1799 (Name of husband no give-this may have been Henry Cathey's wife since she appears right under his name.)

Nancy A. Cathey (written under George C. Cathey's name) was born February 20th 1822 and was married December 5th 1839.
