LEDFORD,ROGERS, EVANS

According to my grandmother her parents were Cherokee Indian and lived in North Carolina on or near the reservation. My grandmother's name was FLORENCE LOUISE LEDFORD, b. 1883-d. 1965, and her parents were DOLPHUS CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS LEDFORD, b. abt. 1860, and QUNICY JANE ROGERS. Dolphus parents were JOHN LEDFORD and NANCY EVANS. My Aunt remembers that her grandfather, Dolphus, would quite often spend time on the reservation, but at that time was not living there. He was raised in what is now known as Hurricane or Cole Creek in Haywood County. Supposedly there is a picture in the museum in Cherokee of the 1888 ball team and he is in the picture. I've been told this but have not been there to see it. Also, on another branch of the family I have a gggg grandmother named LEONAH ROGERS, born about 1800, who I am unable to connect to any of the Haywood County ROGERS. On a list I found on the internet of Cherokee Indians I found a Leona Rogers. I would appreciate any information you can give me.

Looking for info on John CARTER. He married Nancy RUNYON/RUNNION on 23 Oct 1823 in Haywood Co., NC. I have no info on John at all. Nancy was born abt 1804 in Buncombe Co., NC. Her father was Joseph RUNNION (1776-1850) and her mother was Elizabeth SHEPHERD(1774-?). They had at least one child, Louvina, who was born 10 May 1836 in NC, but not sure what county. I am looking for anyone with ANY information on the COLE line in or around the Haywood Co / Madison Co., NC area. The only information that we have at this time is : Mother's name : Elizabeth 1810 1st son's name : Jefferson 1835 2nd son's name : John 1840 3rd son's name : Matt or Matthew 1851 daughter's name : Martha 1857 WE do not know anything about the father. Martha had at least one child named Arthur Eugene Cole, b 5/12/1878, but died sometime after the 1880 census. The exact date is not known. Arthur lived with his grandmother till she died. He then went to live with a relative in NC. He is known to have worked on the Biltmore Estate. Any help would be appreciated

I found this family on the 1850 Haywood County, NC. census. They later lived in Blount County, TN. ANDREW MOORE born ca 1816-17 NC. Wife Rachel (METCALF?) born ca 1826-31 North Carolina. Rachel is buried in front of the Little Greenbrier School House in the Great Smoky Mt. Natl. Park, near Metcalf Bottoms. Children: Mary Ann born ca 1846-47 married a WALLACE or WALLIS. Nancy born before 1850 census married Mike (Buck) JENNINGS. Perry Burt born ca 1856 married Rachel BREEDEN 1 July 1879 Sevier County, TN. Cassie Ann born 3 or 13 May 1860 married 12 Apr 1875 Sevier County TN to George Washington RAYFIELD. (Cassie and George were entertainer Dolly PARTON's great-grandparents.) David P. born 1 Jan. 1863 married Tine (Cora?) Abbott. David died 17 Nov 1875 and is buried Brickey Cemetery, Tuckaleechee Cove, Blount County, TN.
