Mrs. Lola M. Cole


CANDLER--Sept. 23-- Mrs. Lola Mason Cole, 73, died at 9 a.m. today at her home on Candler RFD 3 following a lingering illness.

She was a daughter of the late Luther and Lucinda Mason, and was a member of the Central Methodist Church of Canton.

Surviving are the husband, John K. Cole: four sons, Ted, Pat, and Howard of Canton, and Otis of Clyde: four brothers, Lote Mason, Lude and S. B. of Candler, and Walter of Forks, Wash.: three sisters, Mrs. H. H. Cathey of West Asheville, Mrs. Eurastus Williams and Mrs. W. B. Young of Candler: and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Snow Hill Methodist Church. The Rev. Everett Freeman, the Rev. Vaughn Cannon and the Rev. Bryce Wright will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Rhea Poore, Bob Tate, Buck Scarborough, Ottho Brooks, Herman Williams and Dewey Campbell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Edward Camp, Dr. Lawrence Mucci, Dr. Edward Smith, George Herron, Kim Cathey, Harlan Cathey, Dan Tate, Darrell Wright, Brownlowe Trull, H. L. Setzer, Burrough Harrison and W. E. Sheffield.

The body will be taken to the home at 3 p.m. Saturday and will lie in state at the church for 30 minutes prior to the services.
