Hannah Gribble and Albert Henry Fish

Hannah Gribble
and
her brother, Will Gribble

Although I live in Washington state, many of my ancestors lived in Oregon when they first migrated in 1847. This picture has been in our family for years, and we are just now identifying it.

Hannah was born 5 March 1830 in Haywood County, NC. Her parents were John G. Gribble, b. 30 June 1799 in Mecklenburg Co., NC and Elizabeth Ensley b 15 Nov 1821. The Gribbles were in Independence, MO on 1 May 1846 to begin their migration to Oregon. John Gribble and family are listed on the 1820 Haywood Co. NC Census.
Hannah met Albert Henry Fish in Oregon and married him on 17 Aug 1847 in Oregon City, Oregon territory.
I think their clothing looks consistent with that time period.

Hannah Gribble is my maternal GGG grandmother. I think she is part Cherokee which makes her even more intriguing to me. I would love to get in touch with any Gribble descendents.
