Last Will & Testament of SAMUEL WALKER

The Execution of this Will was duly proved in open Court by the oaths of John Watt and Henry Cobb the subscribing Witnesses and on motion Ordered to be recorded, at same time Robert King Qualified Executor.

In the Name of god Amain--------

I Samuel Walker of the County of Causwell and State of North Carolina being sick and weake of body but of sound and presend mind and memory blesed be god Do this twenty eight Day of october in the year of lord Christ Seventeen hundred and Ninety seven make and ordain this present Writing to be my last Will and testament hereby revoeking and making void all my former wills-----------

First I recommend my soul to god hoping through the merits of my blesed lord to obtain a pardon for all my sins and an inheritance amongst the blest above Second I commit my body to the Dust to be buried at the discreation of my surviving friends and as far as what worldly estate it hath pleased god to bless me with I will and bequeath in the following manner Viz Item I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Elenor Walker all my houses lands one sets household furniture mill horses and cattle and all my property Enduring her Natural life and when it shall please god to separate her soul from her body and her body Decontaly laid in the dust What property may than be found I take and Dispose of in the following manner Viz---------

first I will and bequeath to my two beloved grandsons Samuel Walker and James Walker the land that I now live upon Containing two hundred acres be the same more or less togeth with all my houses orchets midows mills woods and water courses to be equally divided between them to them and their heirs forever-----

Secontly the other propearty that may be found I will and bequeath in the following manner the property I desire to be sold and the money divided among my five beloved children and my will and pleasure is that my beloved daughter Elesabath Cob and my daughter Jean King and my beloved son James Walker may have a double part to what my other two beloved daughters may have Viz------

Augnes Orr and Elinor Walker-------------

Lastly my desire is that Robart King and James Walker my son be my sole oxacctors of this my last will and testament Requesting them to do what Shall be Judged Necessary in Testimony hereof I have set my hand and Seal this Day and Date first above Written Sined Sealed and delivered in presence of us Samuel Walker (seal)
