Will of William Mitchell 1855

April Term 1855

 

In the name of God Amen, this 14th day of January 1855,

I William Mitchell, bein[sic] in ____health, but of sound mind and memory and knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life, constitute and appoint this my last will and testament, and first of all, I will and bequeath my soul to God who gave it, and my body to the earth, to be decently buried at the discresion of my friends.

Item First I will all my just debts to be paid and my just dues collected.

Item Second I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Susan Mitchell, all my estate which I may die seized of possessed of consisting of my land, stock of horses, cattle, hogs, sheep, household and kitchen furniture, bonds, notes and accounts, and all other affects and interests that I may possess at the time of my death, to her own absolute use, to have, to hold enjoy and possess and dispose of as she may think proper.?

And lastly I hereby appoint my beloved wife, Susan Mitchell and Joseph Simpson Executors of my last will and testament hereby revoking and annulling all other will or wills, by me? heretofore made,
