William Edwin Southard

Unexpectedly at his residence, the death of Mr. William Edwin Southard of St. George, NB, occurred on Thursday, June 24, 2004. Born in St. Stephen, NB on April 3, 1933, he was the son of Florence (Hawkins) and the late William E. Southard Sr.. He was a self-employed plumber for over 40 years, a former member of the St. George Fire Department, a former member of the Utopia Skeet Club, an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a licenced Hunting and Fishing Guide. Surviving, besides his mother, are one sister, Edith Blacklock (Thomas) of Pointe Claire, PQ; nephews, Gregory Blacklock (Wendy), Paul Blacklock (Kelly), David Blacklock and their children, all of Montreal; aunts, uncle, and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held from The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the St. George Funeral Home on Sunday, June 27, at 2 pm, with Rev. Mary Ann Langmaid officiating, followed by interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery. A reception will follow at St. Mark’s Anglican Church. Visiting hours from 12 noon until service time. In William’s memory, in lieu of flowers, donations made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
