Vincent Alan Bradford

Peacefully, at his residence in St. George, NB, on February 6, 2005, Mr. Vincent Alan Bradford, husband of Eleanor B. (Parker) Bradford. Born in Blacks Harbour, NB on August 6, 1928, he was a son of the late Walter Winfield and Margaret Mary (Donahue) Bradford. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, he is survived, besides his wife, by one son, Gary (Judith) Bradford of Fredericton; one daughter, Gail (Lorne Hudson) of Saint John; two step-daughters, Faith (Grant) Hooper of Back Bay and Angela (Joey) Johnson of Deer Island; five grandchildren, Nathan of Vancouver, BC, Sarah of Saint John, Acacia and Mitchell Johnson, Nicole (Mike) Thompson; two great-grandsons, Keenan and Konner; two brothers, Grovenor (Caroline) Bradford of Fredericton, Joseph (Ruby) of Blacks Harbour; one sister, Lola Milbury of Toronto, ON; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Vincent was pre-deceased by his first wife, Madge Marie (Storey); three brothers, Walter, Martin and Raymond; four sisters, Jacqueline Suttie, Nellie Beney, Cavell Carson and Sharon Jewett. Vincent was a machinist by trade and worked for many years at Connors Bros. Ltd., Blacks Harbour, until 1977, when he left to begin a machine shop with Harold Bradford Sr.. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman when his health permitted. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge F & AM #12 of St. George, a past member of the Board of Trade and the Chamber of Commerce.

By Vincent’s request, there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 10th at 2 pm from The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the St. George Funeral Home with Rev. Wade Bradford officiating. Interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice, would be appreciated by the family.
