Carl E Chambers

 

Relatives and friends were saddened to learn of the death of Carl Edward Chambers, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital May 2, 1985 following a lengthy illness.

Born April 3, 1910, he was a son of the late Charles and Susan (Seamans) Chambers of St. George where he lived for a number of years and was a student of the St. George Superior High School.

He moved to Second Falls a number of years ago, where he established his home. Through the years he has been occupied in lumbering and farming work and served in the area as a licensed guide.

He was a member of the Second Falls United Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, the former Lila Kinney, two sons, Charles E. and Thomas A. both of Second Falls; three daughters; (Sharon) Mrs Kenneth Stevens of Canal, Susan and Patsy at home; four grandsons and a granddaughter; his brother Roy. G. of St. George, a half-brother, Wayne Chambers of Minto; and a number of nephews and nieces.

The funeral was held from the St. George Funeral Home at St. George to the United Baptist Church at Second Falls with the minister, Rev.John Bunting, officiating at the service.

The hymn Safe in the Arms of Jesus was sung by Annie Pollock. The pallbearers were Henry Robbins, Allan Goodrich, Willard Akerley, Percy Jordan, James Akerley, James Oliver and Emery Thorne.

Interment was in the community cemetery at Second Falls.

Beautiful floral tributes were received as well as a number of donations made to the various memorial funds.
