Gilbert Jospeh McGraw

It is with heavy hearts that we share the home going of Gilbert Jospeh McGraw, husband of Mrs. Kathleen (Kinney) McGraw of Second Falls NB. Born at Saint Louis de Kent NB on October 25, 1947, he was a son of the late James Joseph and Marguerite (Babineau) McGraw. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his beloved wife of 37 years, Kathleen, he is survived by his daughter, Theresa (McGraw) Boddy and son in law Adam. Gilbert leaves behind two special grandchildren who brought him so much joy, Abbygail and Kenton. He is also survived by sisters; Ida Richard of St. Charles NB, Yvonne Chevarie of Blacks Harbour NB, brothers; Donald of St. Charles NB, Frank of Tracadie-Sheila NB, Norman of Bathurst NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Gilbert was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Arthur and an infant sister, Mary Anna.

Gilbert worked many years for Connors Bros. driving truck and for the last few years in the sealing room. He loved hunting and fishing and antique trucks, especially 1979 Ford’s and enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music. He and Kay spent many years of seasonal camping at St. Andrews NB. While there, playing darts and washers occupied their time. His greatest joy came while spending time with his grandchildren and Grampy always made extra time for them.

Resting at Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church, Blacks Harbour NB from where the service will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jeff Hoyt officiating followed by interment at the Second Falls Baptist Cemetery. Visiting at the church will take place on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Gilbert’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
