Lillian Doris (Hatt) Thorne
1920-2007
Unexpectedly, at the residence of her daughter in Seeley’s Cove NB on
July 31, 2007, Mrs. Lillian Doris (Hatt) Thorne, wife
of the late Mr. Arthur Blair Thorne of St. George NB. Born in L’Etang NB
on March 7, 1920 she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Ida Mae (Leavitt)
Hatt.
A loving mother, grandmother and sister she is survived by four sons; Paul (Phyllis) Thorne of Saint John NB, Ian (Loren) Thorne of Vancouver BC, Charles (Rosemary) of Utopia NB and Jimmy (Trish) Thorne also of Vancouver BC, four daughters; Susan (Gary) Chambers and Barbara Justason both of Pennfield NB, Dorothy (Bert) Evans of Utopia NB and Beulah (Dale) Guthrie of Seeley’s Cove, 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, one brother; Henry Hatt of L’Etang, two sisters; Annie (Alan) Whirty of St. Stephen NB and Alberta (Hilton) Hanley of Back Bay NB, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lillian was predeceased by 16 brothers and sisters, one son in law; Dennis Justason and mother in law, Carrie Thorne.
Lillian enjoyed the company of her friends and family. She was an avid bird watcher and loved spending time in her rocker. She was a member of the St. George Baptist Church.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home and Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage St. St. George NB, with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 pm and on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm from the St. George Baptist Church, followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Lillian’s memory donations to the NB Alzheimer’s Society, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. (www.stgeorgefh.ca)
