Flora “Rosie” (Kernighan) Norman

 Peacefully, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on April 13th, 2007, surrounded by her loving family, Flora “Rosie” (Kernighan) Norman, of St. George went home to be with her Lord. Born in St. George on March 29th, 1915, Rosie was the wife of the late Darrell Eugene Norman. She was a daughter of the late John and Cora (Leavitt) Kernighan. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Rosie is survived by seven daughters; Clara (Keith) McDowell, Myrtle (Jack) Berdan, Betty (Lewis) Diamond, Frances (Gordon) Embree, Shirley (Pete) LeBlanc, Valrea Norman (Peter Jablonowski) and Debbie (Dean) Dick, five sons; John (Mary), Ross (Joan), Glenn (Charlotte), Charles (Claudette) and Brian (Donna) Norman, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Rosie was predeceased by her husband Darrell, a son, Darrell “Jackie”, two brothers, two sisters and four grandchildren.

 

Known for her kind and gentle smile and the “twinkle in her eye,” Mama (Grammie) was loved by all who knew her. At Grammie’s all the children found her love and any kind of cookie. Grammie’s life was anchored in her love for her Lord and her Church. Rosie was a life long member of the Cornerstone Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in St. George NB. She spent many hours of her free time gardening, which she loved to do so much.

 

Resting at the Cornerstone Tabernacle Church, St. George NB on Sunday April 15th and Monday April 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the church on Tuesday April 17th at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Calvin MacDonald and Rev. Vernon Bustard officiating. Interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Rosie’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
