It is with great sadness that the family of the June Marie Shaw announce her
passing on August 8, 2012. She chose to spend her final days surrounded by
her family at home. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Floyd, parents,
Gilbert and Nellie Cook and by special granddaughter, Candy Jill Cooke. She
leaves behind her seven children; Kelly Shaw (Shawn) of Utopia NB, Trudy
Shaw of L’Etang NB, Stephanie Wornell (Bobby) of Calais ME, Terry Shaw
(Eileen) of Lime Kiln NB, Penny Cooke (Frankie) of Back Bay NB, Janice
Barrett (Thomas) of Back Bay NB and Wayne Shaw (Carol Anne) of L’Etete NB,
18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one brother Ronald Cook (Doreen)
of St. George NB. A very special thanks to Tonya, her granddaughter who has
been a tremendous part of her “Nanny’s” life. Also special mention to “her
buddy” Zackary (Bushel and a peck)
Mom was a life long member of the Seaview Full Gospel Church in Back Bay NB.
She not only talked of faith but showed us faith in action during her
illness and final days. At this time, the family would like to say a special
thank you to Pastor Cooke for his love in guidance in their time of need and
last but by no means least, her doctor, Dr. Harry Ondiveeran for his
devotion and compassion. He always brought a tinkle to mom’s eye. Once more
we want to say, “Love you mom and Thank You!”
Resting at the Seaview Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB from where the
service will be held on Friday at 2 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating
followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the
church will take place on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. At mom’s request, no
flowers please. In mom’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer
Society or to the Eastern Charlotte Extra Mural Program would be appreciated
by the family. Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home &
