Thelma Georgina  Stevens
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on March 5, 2009 following a brief illness, Mrs. Thelma Georgina (Weatherby) Stevens, wife of the late Earl Malcolm Stevens of Second Falls NB.
Born at Debert NS on August 6,1933 she was a daughter of the late George and Sadie (Ferguson) Weatherby.
A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by: three sons; Allan (Anita), Kenneth (Sharon) and Harry all of Second Falls, three daughters; Marilyn Stevens and Edith (Emerson) Jordan both of Second Falls and Sharon (Howard) McLean of Saint John NB, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, one brother; Delbert Weatherby of Debert NS, two sisters; Minnie McDougall of Lakeville ON and Mae (Don) McDougall of Debert NS as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband she was also predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.
Prior to her retirement Thelma worked for Connors Brothers in Blacks Harbour for a number of years. She loved doing her puzzles and enjoyed to cook as well as bird watching and feeding the birds.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott memorial chapel on Saturday at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held in the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. Visiting at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
