June 14, 1914, he was a son of the late Arthur and Bessie (
Perry)
Stewart.
A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, Marshall is
survived by one daughter; Mary (Ron)
Christie of
Fredericton, NB two sons; Donald (Linda) of St. George and Malcolm (Karen)
of Salisbury, NB, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, one brother; H.
Perry (Yvonne) of Toronto, ON, one sister; Jean (John)
Cunningham
of Toronto and three nieces. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by one
grandson; Benjamin Christie, one sister; Mary A.
Stewart
and one brother; Donald
Stewart.
Marshall was a World War II veteran where he served overseas in England,
Italy and Holland with the Carleton York and Cape Breton Highlanders
Regiments. Prior to his retirement, Marshall was employed by NB Power
Commission for 30+ years. He was a lifetime member with over 50 years
membership with the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 40, St. George, NB. He
was known for his whistle and his love of Big Band Music. He also enjoyed
being read to by Brittany O’Neill. He was well loved and will be missed
greatly by his family and friends.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage
Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E.
Waycott Memorial Chapel on Monday at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Canon David Genge
and Rev. Keith Osborne officiating. Interment at the St. George Rural
Cemetery at a later date. Visiting at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4
and 7-9 pm. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held at the
funeral home on Sunday at 7:00 pm. In Marshall’s memory donations to a
charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
