FISHER, ADA BACON - Passed away peacefully
on January 16, 2007 at Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB. Born on
September 19, 1918 at Lepreaux NB, she was a daughter to the late
George and Sarah B. (Lawrence) Winn. She was the
wife of the late Keith H. Fisher of Oven Head NB, who predeceased
her in November 1978. Ada was the last surviving member of her
immediate family.
Ada was a regular member of the Christ Church (Parish) Church
and of its quilter’s group in Fredericton NB, where she had resided
for approximately 42 years. She worked in the hotel and restaurant
business, working at, Garneys Tourist Cabins in Bethel NB, O’Connell
Lodge in Lac de Loup PQ, Beverbrook Hotel, The Sun Grill and Zellers
all in Fredericton, NB. Also, she frequently assisted with dinners
at the residence of the Lieutenant Governor, in which she took much
pride and thoroughly enjoyed.
Ada leaves nephews; Lyman, Bremen (Peggy), and Leonard (Marilyn)
Spear and families, and John (Gwen) Moody
and a niece; Norma (Barry) Crawford, also a very
special chosen daughter; Marguerite (David) Garnett
of Bayside NB, and a true and valued friend; Jackie Lovely of
Beaverdam NB, seven nieces and four nephews from the St. Andrews,
St. Stephen and Fredericton areas. Besides her parents and husband,
Ada was predeceased by one sister; Wilhemina Spear, two brothers; L.
Osborne (Ozzie) Moody, and King Winn, sister in
laws; Anita (Robert) Stinson, Freta (Don)
Malloy, Hilda Jean Fisher and Elma (Mike)
DeKouchay, brother in law; Kenneth Fisher, a
nephew; Charles Moody at the age of 16 and a niece; Dorothy Alice
Fisher at the age of 12.
By request, there will be no visitation held. A Graveside
service will be held at a later date in the spring. Arrangements are
entrusted to the care of the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage
Street, St. George NB.
