ETHEL B. ADLEY
The funeral service for Ethel Beatrice (Cawley) Adley was held at the St. George Funeral Home, St. George, N.B. with Rev. Eric Caldwell officiating.
Born on April 1, 1905, in Pennfield Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Jenny (Mawhinney) Cawley and was in her 86th year. She attended various schools during her childhood. She attended the School of Nursing in Maine, later returning to Canada where she nursed at the Saint John General Hospital until her retirement in 1970. Ethel took up residence at Lambertville, D.I. until illness entered her into Lincourt Manor in 1988.
Organist and soloist was Ellen Bradford.
Pallbearers were grandson Blair McLaughlin, Connecticut, nephew Keith Cawley, Deer Island, and friends Rodney Miner, Eugene Miner, Darrell Lord and David McLaughlin.
She is survived by two daughters, Gloria (Mrs. James McLaughlin) of Clearwater, Florida and Barbara (Mrs. Ted Parrella) of Naples, Florida; one son, Garfield of Rumford, Me.; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one son, Stanwood in 1963.
Interment took place in the St. George Rural Cemetery, St. George.
Those attending were from Florida, Connecticut, Maine, Deer Island, Lepreau, Maces Bay, Saint John, St. Stephen and surrounding areas. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all of us.
