ORBIN JAMES HARRIS

The death of Orbin James Harris of Back Bay occurred on Thursday, August 2, 1979 at the Fundy Hospital, Black's Harbour, after a lengthy illness.

Born at Back Bay on February 8, 1906; the son of Orbin J. Harris and Leta (Leavitt) Harris and resided there his entire life.  He worked in the fishing industry in the area and for Connor's Bros. Ltd. retiring in 1971.

He is survived by his wife the former Mildred M. Sprague; two daughters; Mrs. Richard Miller (Betty) of Watertown, Mass., and Mrs. Reid Hatt (Shirley) of Back Bay; eleven grandchildren, one great grandson and one foster grandson;  five brothers; three sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in 1938 by daughter Phyllis, in 1954 by son Keith, and in 1975 by daughter Glenna.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 5, 1979;  from the Saint George Funeral Home, with Rev. David Haddon officiating.

Interment was in the St. George Cemetery.
