Barton)
Chase, wife of the
late Kensel C. Chase of St. George NB. Born in Salmon Bay NB on April 23,
1911, Cora was a daughter of the late Michael and Blanche (
Munroe)
Barton. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, Cora is survived by one
son, James Chase of St. George, one daughter, Mildred (Neil)
Williams of Calgary AB, two grandsons; Mike (Sonia) Chase and Brian
Chase (Lynn
Chambers) both of St George, one granddaughter,
Kim (Chris)
Sarchfield of St. George, seven great
grandchildren, one sister, Doris
Tiffin of London ON and
several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband,
Kensel, five brothers; Carey, Burns, Calvin, Warren and Clifford, and by two
sisters; Ernestine
McCartney and Marie
Lemon.
Prior to her retirement, Cora was a well known and loved teacher for over 35
years in the St. George area. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed
traveling. She was very interested and educated herself in current news
affairs. In her early years she enjoyed spending time at the cottage in
Utopia NB. Cora was a member of the NB Retired Teacher’s Association and the
St. George Baptist Church.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage
Street, St. George NB, with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The
service will be held at the St. George Baptist Church on Wednesday at 2:00
pm followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Cora’s memory,
donations to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the
family.
