Gerald Edward Grearson

1924-2007

 

 Peacefully at his residence, St. George NB on April 17th, 2007, Mr. Gerald Edward Grearson husband of Anita (Spinney) Grearson of St. George NB. Born Saint John NB on December 1st, 1924 he was the son of the late Herbert “Raymond” and Eola Ann (Hoyt) Grearson. A loving husband of 59 years, father and grandfather he is survived by his wife Anita, one daughter Judith (Donald) Breau, two grandchildren; Danielle Breau and Gil Breau (Michelle Cobbrn) all of St. George. Predeceased besides his parents by one great granddaughter, Morgan Marie.

 

Gerald was a carpenter by trade and had worked for various employers as well as being self employed for a number of years. He was a veteran of the Second World War having served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as a pilot. Known for his love of carpentry work and wood working, his family own many treasures to cherish in which he built. He was an avid reader who also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years. Gerald also had a passion for photography who enjoyed taking pictures as well as developing his own photos. He also enjoyed canoeing and loved the outdoors. Gerald was a life long member of the St. George Baptist Church.

 

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St George NB, with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9. The service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am, from the St. George Baptist Church, followed by interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery. A reception will be held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, St. George following the interment. In Gerald’s memory donations to the St. George Baptist Church or St. Mark’s Anglican Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
