2009, Mr.
Emery Foster Thorne, husband of Mrs. Mary V. (
Frost)
Thorne of Second Falls NB. Born at Canal NB on July 16, 1924, he was a son
of the late Frederick and Lois (
Andrews) Thorne. A loving
husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Mary, he
is survived by one daughter, Elaine
Hooper of Rothesay NB,
two sons; Peter Thorne of Canal NB and Blair Thorne of Utopia NB, five
grandchildren; Vanessa, Lindsey, Jodi, Jared and Spencer, five great
grandchildren; Emma, Griffin, Calley, Cole and Mia, one sister, Joanne
Chevarie of Canal, one sister in law, Jane
Stevens
of Fredericton NB, one brother in law, Eugene (Roberta) Frost of Saint John
NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was
predeceased by brothers, Alfred, Gerald and Kenneth, sisters; Jean
Weaver, Lillian
Murray and Mary
Weaver
and one sister in law, Karen
Frost.
Prior to his retirement, Emery held many jobs which included working for the
Dead River Pulp & Paper, The Dept. of Transportation Bridge Crew, or just
working for himself as a Farmer or Woodsman. He had a strong work ethic that
was shown in all that he did. He enjoyed spending time with his family and
had a special love for his John Deere and old Cub Tractors. Emery was a
member of the Second Falls Baptist Church and will be missed by his family
and the many friends he has made over the years.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage
Street, St. George, NB from where the service will be held from The Gary E.
Waycott Memorial Chapel on Thursday at 2 pm with Pastor Reg Ward officiating
followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the
funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Emery’s memory, donations
to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, or to a charity of the donor’s
choice would be appreciated by the family.
