At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on August 5, 2009, Mr.
Joseph George “Graham” Richardson, husband of Mrs. Edith Irma (Seamans)
Richardson of Canal NB passed away suddenly following three months of
hospitalization. Born at Atholville NB on October 10, 1931, he was a son of
the late Frances and Alice (Graham) Richardson. A loving husband and
brother, in addition to his wife Edith, he is survived by one brother,
Allison Richardson of Campbellton NB, one sister, Betty Ann Brooks of
Labrador City NFLD and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his
parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Carl Richardson.
Graham was a Pipe Fitter by trade having worked with many projects in both
New Brunswick and Quebec. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters
Union Local 213 for many years. He was fluently bilingual and had served
with the Royal Canadian Air Force at the age of 17 and was a decorated
veteran of the Korean War. Prior to his pipe fitting trade, he worked as a
Chemical Technologist in the pulp and paper industry for several years.
Graham had an interest in history and politics and at one time he ran for
the NDP candidate in the local riding. Graham was a committed member of St.
Marks Anglican Church in St. George. In later years, he and his wife Edith
enjoyed several trips abroad to South Korea with the War Veterans and to
England and the Philippines with Christian Missions.
At Graham’s request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A
memorial service will be celebrated from St. Marks Anglican Church, St.
George NB on Saturday at 2 pm followed by interment at the St. George Rural
Cemetery. In Graham’s memory, donations to the St. Marks Anglican Church
Rebuilding Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated
