Marla Rose Dewar
1940-2008
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on
Wednesday April 23rd, 2008, Mrs. Marla Rose (Holland) Dewar of L’Etang
NB. Born in Blacks Harbour NB on July 31st, 1940 she was a daughter of
Anna Marguerite (Murray) Holland and the late Manford Henry Holland. A
loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister she is survived by two
sons; Sandy Dewar of Chocolate Cove NB and Brian (Dawn) Dewar of St.
George NB, one daughter, Judith Dewar of Fredericton NB, four
grandchildren; Katherine, Jan, Reece and Liam, her mother, A. Marguerite
Holland of Blacks Harbour, one brother, Lloyd Holland of Blacks Harbour,
two sisters; Esther (Maynard) Clinch of St. George and Jean (Billy)
Wright of Pennfield NB and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and
cousins. Besides her father, she was predeceased by a granddaughter,
Emily Dewar.
Marla worked for the NB Department of Education as a Bus Driver for 20
years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was a member
of the Charlotte County Genealogical Society. Marla will be sadly missed
by her family and her many friends.
The family will receive friends at the St. George Funeral Home &
Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB on Saturday from
7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2:30 pm from the
Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce
Alcorn officiating followed by interment at the St. George Rural
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marla’s memory may be made to
the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s
choice.
