We are saddened to announce the passing of Sherman Linwood Drost who passed
away peacefully with his loving wife, Wilda and family by his side at the
Tom Baker Cancer Center, Calgary AB. Born at Minto NB on September 12, 1946,
he was a son of the late Leon and Annie (Clarke) Drost. Sherman was a warm,
kind and loving person who had a knack of entertaining everyone and was
always surrounded by laughter and music. He was well liked by all, which was
obvious by the number of friends who visited him in the hospital. Sherman is
survived by his wife Wilda; son Calvin Drost of Ontario, step children,
Wayne (Jamie), Kevin (Karen), Kelly (Ruth) and Darlene (Pete) and nine
grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Ralph Drost (Florence) of
Lepreau NB and two sisters, Marion Balser (Larry) of Burton NB and Juanita
Cooke (Davis) of St George NB, along with several nieces and nephews, all in
New Brunswick. In addition to his parents, he was was predeceased by his
step mom Georgie Drost (Hatt/Barry)
A memorial service was held at Bethany Church in Dickson, AB on Sunday, June
9, 2013 at 3:00 pm. Lunch and JAM session followed at Spruce View Hall.
Sherman's ashes were then taken east to St. George Funeral Home &
Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage St., St. George NB, where a memorial
service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Saturday
July 13th, 2013 at 11:00am with burial following at the St. George Rural
Cemetery. A time for reflection and lunch will be held at the home of Dan
and Nancy Drost (45 cooks Road, Utopia NB) For the east coast details you
