Avis Lorraine Golden

Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on May 28, 2013, Mrs. Avis Lorraine (Hanley) Golden, wife of Mr. William H. Golden of L’Etete NB. Born at Blacks Harbour NB on September 6, 1958, she was a daughter of William D. Hanley and the late Lorraine E. Hanley. A loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, in addition to her loving husband William, she is survived by one son, Jacy Golden of L’Etete NB, her father, William Hanley of Back Bay NB, one brother, Bruce (Melody) Hanley of L’Etang NB, one niece, Olivia Hanley (Darren Whittier) of L’Etang NB, one great niece, Renay Hanley, one great nephew, Gavin Whittier and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Avis was predeceased by her mother, Lorraine Hanley.

Avis was a well known and well loved member of her community. She had a passion for music, especially the Piano and was a member of the Gospel Music Group, Golden Harmony, which she founded with her loving son, Jacy. In her spare time, Avis loved to travel to any place warm and loved being with her family and friends. She was a member of the Sea View Full Gospel Church in Back Bay, where she was the pianist for over 32 years. She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

Resting at the Sea View Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB from where the service will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the church will take place on Thursday from 7-9 pm. In Avis’ memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
