Manford H. Cook of Back Bay NB passed away Tuesday May 7, 2013 in his 103rd
year. Survived by his wife, Irene (Leavitt) Cook of 77 wonderful years. He
leaves to mourn one son, Sheldon (Frances) Cook of Back Bay NB, two
grandchildren. June (Davis) Pelkey of Waweig NB, Larry (Melissa) Cook of
Back Bay NB, two great grandchildren Brianna and Logan of Back Bay NB whom
he was very proud of and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Manford was
the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Manford was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather
and always had time for his family. He was a fisherman and boat builder by
trade working many hours in his workshop building boats. He will be sadly
missed for the great advice he gave his grandchildren.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage
Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E.
Waycott Memorial Chapel on Thursday at 11:00 am with Rev. Gordon Cooke
officiating followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery.
Visiting at the funeral home will take place on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9
pm. In Manford’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or
to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreicated by the family. Due
to allergies in the family, NO FLOWERS PLEASE and please refrain from
wearing scented products to both the visitation and service.
