Patricia Ann Barrett was born in Back Bay NB on January 4, 1943 to the late
Russell and Carmina (McCarten) Barrett. Patricia was fondly known by
everyone as “Peggy.” Peggy peacefully went home to be with her Lord on
Sunday, March 3, 2013. With a zest for life, Peggy was an avid gardener,
loved to listen to music and had a great sense of humor. In early years she
enjoyed driving her car and visiting family and friends. She had a special
love for cats, especially her cat Rocky. Peggy was a women of prayer and had
an unwavering faith in God. She was a faithful member of the Sea View Full
Gospel Church in Back Bay NB. Throughout her life she reached out to others
with love and kindness. But most of all was the love that she had for her
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A loving mother, sister and
friend she will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all that knew her.
Peggy is survived by two sons, Michael (Leslie) Young of Limekiln NB and
John Young of Delta BC, two daughters, Tina (Jay) Hillis of Red Deer AB and
Laura (Meldon) Mitchell of Back Bay NB, 10 grandchildren; Joshua (Krystal)
Young of Red Deer AB, Jennifer Hill of Limekiln NB, Anne-Marie Bradford of
Ottawa ON, Lindsay (Mike Hamblen) Young of Bar Harbour ME, Evan (Alyssa
Fugnitto) McNeil of Red Deer AB, Autumun McNeil of Peterborough ON, Leigh
(DJ Brown) Mitchell of Back Bay NB, Blair Mitchell of Back Bay NB, Amber
Hill (Matthew Cooke) of St. George NB and Gena Hill (Gordon Graham) of Nova
Scotia, two great grandsons, Dominic Young of Red Deer AB and Noah Hill of
St. George NB, one great granddaughter, Eden Hill of St. George NB, two
brothers, Jimmy (Brenda) Barrett and Tommy (Janice) Barret both of Back Bay
NB, four sisters; Janet (Melvin) Matheson of Utopia NB, Eileen Craig of
Toronto ON, Carla (Mike) Venne of Repentigny QC and Heather Barrett of Back
Bay NB and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her
parents, Peggy was predeceased by one brother, Murray and by two infant
sisters.
Resting at the Sea View Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB from where the
service will be held on Saturday at 2 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating.
The interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery in the
spring. Visiting at the church on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Peggy’s
memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, The Alzheimer Society
or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
