Peacefully, at the Charlotte County Hospital, on January 31st, 2013, Mrs. E.
Valerie (Kinney) Cook, wife of the late Mr. Guilford Richard Cook of Back
Bay, NB. Born at Blacks Harbour, NB, on June 30th, 1935, she was the
daughter of the late Walter and Irene (McGraw) Kinney. A beloved mother and
cherished grandmother, she is survived by her son, Scott (Crystal) Cook, her
daughter, Joan (Richard) Beek, one granddaughter, Christie Beek (Craig
Jennings) and two grandsons, Kyle and Alex Cook, all of St. George.
Childhood friend, Ruby C. Miles of Prince George, B.C., as well as many
loyal and devoted friends and neighbours. Valerie is also survived by one
cousin, Shirley Hatt and by several nieces and nephews and great grand
nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by
two infant sisters, Edith and Eva, her sister, Doris Hooper, and one
brother, Russell Kinney.
Valerie will always be remembered for her generosity, her cooking and her
passion for growing her beautiful flower gardens.
At Valerie’s request, there will be no visitation. Interment will be held at
the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations
to the Charlotte County Hospital Palliative Care Unit, The Hospice of
Charlotte or to the Charlotte County Cancer Society would be appreciated by
