Lorraine Ellen Hanley was born on December 12th, 1940 to the late Philmore & Treva (Harris) Hanley. She passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB surrounded by her family on Friday, September 21st, 2012. A loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, She is survived by her loving husband, William Donald Hanley of Back Bay, two children: Avis (William) Golden of L'Etete NB and Bruce (Melody) Hanley of L'Etang NB, two grandchildren: Jacy Golden of L'Etete NB and Olivia (Darren) Hanley of L'Etang NB, two great-grandchildren: Renay Hanley & Gavin Whittier both of L'Etang NB, seven brothers: Maynard (Ellen) Hanley, Eldon (Marilyn) Hanley, Ross (Betty) Hanley, Randal (Christine) Hanley, James (Edith) Hanley, Murvin (Peggy) Matheson and Bedford (Brenda) Matheson, seven sisters: Marla (Maurice) McGee, Debra McLaughlin, Twila (David) McLaughlin, Rhoda (Michael) Kernighan, Patricia Taylor, Vicki (Kevin) Merserau and Crystal Parks, several brothers & sisters-in-law and by several nieces & nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her two brothers, Clark and Farren Hanley; and two sisters, Edna Hooper and baby Rhoda Hanley

Lorraine lived a happy life. Her world revolved around her love of church, family and friends. She loved to travel, cook and spoil her family rotten.

Resting at her church, Sea View Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB, from where the service will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke Jr. officiating followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the church will take place on Sunday from 7-9 pm. In Lorraine’s memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
