Unexpectedly at Moncton NB on December 25, 2012, Mrs. Olive Elizabeth (Green) Steen, wife of Mr. Russell A. Steen of Breadalbane NB. Born at Grand Manan NB on September 25, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Schofield) Green. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, in addition to her husband Russell, she is survived by one son, Darin Brown of Moncton NB, one daughter, Darla (Wade) Ingalls of Grand Manan NB, one foster daughter, Jolene Sadler also of Grand Manan NB, five grandchildren, Delaney, Sydnie, Sophie, Cole and Emma, two sisters; Glenna (Harvard) Jones of Fredericton NB and Leah Ingersoll of Grand Manan NB, one brother, Stanley (Mary) Green of Grand Manan NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Olive was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary, two sisters; Velda Randall and Elise Brown and by two brothers; Austin and Malcolm Green.

Olive worked as a home support worker in the local area. She enjoyed puzzles, knitting and going for shopping trips. She loved entertaining and spending all her free time with her grandchildren.

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Sunday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bruce Cheney officiating. The interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. Visiting at the funeral home will be held on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Olive’s memory, donations to the NB Policeman’s Association or to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
