McCLANAGHAN, CATHERINE GUSSIE - Unexpectedly at the Saint
John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on June 25, 2012, Catherine
McClanaghan of Breadalbane, NB. Born at St. George, NB on December 21, 1939,
she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Gussie (Leavitt) McClanaghan. A
loving mother and sister, Catherine is survived by her loving daughter and
best friend, Violet (Samuel) Leavitt of Breadalbane, NB,
three sisters; Edna Yetters, Verna Walsh
and Emily Cheney, two brothers, Alfie and Charlie and by
several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. In addition to her
parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Earland and Burton. Prior to
her retirement Catherine worked for Connors Bros. for many years. She had a
wonderful sense of humor and was known to tease and joke and made everyone
around her smile. She recently quit smoking after many years and for that
she was truly proud of herself. She will always be remembered as being the
best mother, mother in law and a loving second mom to Elsie. Catherine was a
long time member of the Cornerstone Tabernacle Church.
Resting at the Cornerstone Tabernacle Church, Manor Road, St. George, NB
from where the service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Stanley
O’Donnell officiating followed by the interment at the St. George Rural
Cemetery. Visiting at the church will take place on Wednesday from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 pm. In Catherine’s memory, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society
or to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
