Unexpectedly at his residence on September 14, 2012, Mr. Henry Edward
McGrattan, husband of Mrs. Florence (Savage) McGrattan of St. George NB.
Born at Campbellton NB on October 22, 1929, he was a son of the late Henry
Sr. and Phyllis (Henry) McGrattan. A loving husband, father, grandfather and
brother, in addition to his loving wife, Florence, he is survived by two
sons; Rodney McGrattan of Charlottetown PE and Stanley (Louise) McGrattan of
St. George NB, two grandsons; Dan and Joel both of Saint John, one
granddaughter, Darcy (Thomas) McEwen of Quelph ON, one step grandson, John
Quigley of St. George NB, five great grandchildren, two sisters; Marjorie
(John) Saxton of Dartmouth NS and Jackie Montgomery of Saint John NB and
several nieces, nephews and cousins. Henry was predeceased by two bothers;
Patrick and John McGrattan.
Prior to his retirement, Henry worked for a number of years for Trynor
Construction in St. George, the D.O.T. in St. George and as a Heavy
Equipment Mechanic for St. George Pulp and Paper. He was a true Mr. Fix-It
who loved working on cars and trucks in his spare time and could fix
whatever was broken. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and many
friends.
As keeping with Henry’s wishes there will be no visitation. A graveside
service will be held at the St. George’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. George
NB on Tuesday at 2:00 pm with Father Rolando Suplido officiating followed by
a reception at the Magaguadavic Center, St. George NB. In Henry’s memory,
donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by
