Robert "Bobby" Paul McGrattan

Unexpectedly at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on August 25, 2011, Mr. Robert “Bobby” Paul McGrattan of St. George NB. Born at Blacks Harbour NB on September 11, 1951, he was a son of Mrs. Alfreda (King-Roy) McGrattan of St. George NB and the late Mr. Charles F. McGrattan. A loving father, grandfather, son and brother, in addition to his mother Freda, he is survived by one son, Douglas (Shannon) Bell of British Columbia, two daughters, Steacy (Kenny) O’Reilly of Ontario and Marina (Mark) Hatt of St. Stephen NB, six grandchildren; Brittany, Deseray, Dryden, Dawson, Daphne and Drake, three brothers; Leo (Barb) McGrattan of St. George NB, Edward McGrattan of the Cayman Islands and Joseph (Shelley) McGrattan of St. George NB, three sisters; Linda Ann (Steven) Shanks of Quispamsis NB, Sally (Wayne) McDowell of Pennfield NB and Jackie (Michael) Sutton of Moncton NB and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bobby was a well known and a well liked member of the local area who loved socializing and playing cards, especially a good hand of 63’s. He loved curling and was a former member of the St. George Curling Club for a number of years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, fishing and being outside. Bobby was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 40, St. George NB and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Sunday from 2-5 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 1 pm from the St. George’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Rolando Suplido officiating followed by the interment at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bobby’s memory to the Lung Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
