STEWART, HARRY "PERRY"
Harry “Perry” Stewart, 98, of Fall River, passed away peacefully in the
Veterans Memorial Site QEII, Halifax on Sunday, May 1, 2016.
Perry Stewart was born in St. George, New Brunswick, a son of the late Arthur and Bessy (Perry) Stewart.
Beloved father to Elizabeth “Beth” Mitchell, Enfield, NS and Josephine
“Jo-Anne” (Mark) Simpson, Tiny, ON; grandfather to Dr. Kirk (Amy) Baker,
Chicago, IL; Meghan (John) Lloyd-Duggan, Enfield, NS; Caitlin Simpson,
Ottawa, ON; Wesley Simpson, Cornwall, ON; great-grandfather to Mitchell,
Callum and Connor Lloyd, Matthew Duggan and Cameron and Zachary Baker. Perry
is also survived by several nieces and nephews; sister, Jean (John “Gip”)
Cunningham.
He was predeceased by brothers, Marshall, Donald; sister, Mary "May".
He married his love Marjorie Althea Cameron, who died in 1980, and later he
married Yvonne Kingston Stein and they shared a wonderful life with each
other; she gave him such loving care in his remaining years.
Perry was a proud WWII Veteran. He will be remembered for his love of life,
golf, bridge, cribbage, horses and travel. He spent over 30 years with the
Bank of Nova Scotia, bringing each branch he managed to its potential. There
was always a story or a joke to entertain and lift your spirits. He was
dapper to the end. His pride of his grandchildren was evident in the stories
he told, and he would always embellish in their favour. His caring and
devotion to his family will never be forgotten.
He will be sadly missed by many friends and family. He will live on in all
of us.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral
Home, Shubenacadie, NS. Funeral services will be held 2pm Saturday June 4,
2016 at Saint John the Baptist Chapel of Ease, 4691, Route 127, Chamcook,
St. Andrews, N.B., Archdeacon John A. Matheson officiating A reception will
follow downstairs at the All Saints Anglican Parish, 77 King St., St.
Andrews, NB. A private family committal service will be held at the
Pennfield Cemetery.
Special thanks to the nursing staff of 4 West of Camp Hill Hospital. Their
care and love allowed family and friends to take a breath, knowing he was in
incredible hands.
