Peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on July 30, 2011
Mrs. Hazel Marguerite (Stanton) Gillespie, wife of Mr. Harold B. Gillespie
of Utopia NB. Born at Digby NS on February 11, 1927, she was a daughter of
the late Curtis and Frances (Buckley) Stanton. A loving wife, mother and
grandmother, in addition to her husband Harold, she is survived by two sons;
Dwight (Susan) Gillespie of Utopia NB and Herb (Nancy) Gillespie of
Pennfield NB, seven grandchildren; Tony, April, Justin, John, Jenna, Mark
and Taylor, two great grandchildren; Forrest and Emma, one brother, Clyde
Stanton of California, one sister, Elizabeth Kingston of Blacks Harbour NB
and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Hazel was predeceased by one
daughter, Margaret Crosby, one grandson, Charles, one brother, Spurgeon and
sisters, Virginia McLean and Allean Roth
In keeping with the family’s wishes there will be no visitation. A private
family service will be held at a later date. In Hazel’s memory, donations to
the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice
would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in the care of the St.
