Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB, on February
28, 2009, Mr. David William Hanlon, husband of the late Mrs. Jean (Harrison)
Hanlon of
St. George NB. Born at
Riverside–Albert NB on June 14, 1945, he was a son of the late William and
Caroline (Dixon) Hanlon. A loving companion, father, grandfather and
brother, he is survived by his companion, Donna Hubbard of St. George, two
sons; Timothy (Loretta) Hanlon of Pennfield NB and Dwayne (Stephanie) Hanlon
of Saint John, four grandchildren; Mitchel, Kelsey, Mikayla and Brandon, one
sister, Shirley (Chester) Trenholm of Dorchester NB, two brothers; Lloyd
Hanlon of Moncton NB and Harry Hanlon of Montreal PQ, and several nieces,
nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife Jean, he was predeceased by one
brother, Donald Hanlon.
Dave worked as a security officer for Connor’s Bros at Blacks Harbour NB.
Prior to working for Connor’s Bros., Dave was a branch manager at Irving Oil
in St. George from the mid 1970’s and operated the L’Etete Road Irving from
1988 - 1997 with his late wife Jean. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved
hunting, fishing and four wheeling. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed
spending time with his grandchildren.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A Memorial Service will be
held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel, St.
George Funeral Home, St. George NB with Rev. Grant Alcorn officiating. In
Dave’s memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian
Diabetes Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be
