McNutt, Mildred Maud

McNUTT, Mildred Maud - Peacefully, at her residence in St. George, N.B., on July 11, 2005, Mrs. Mildred Maud (Washburn) McNutt, 87, wife of the late Lloyd McNutt (June 28, 1958 – Sept. 3, 1976). Born on Aug. 30, 1917, in Toronto, Ont., she was a daughter of the late Archie and Suzanne Lemieux. Most of her life was spent in Arvida, Que., and Kingston, Ont.
Mildred is survived by two sons, Ronnie, of Vancouver, B.C., and Daniel (Arlette) Washburn, of St. George, N.B.; one daughter, Heather Duncan, of Canmore, Alta.; seven grandchildren, Sandra, Valerie, Christine, Robert, Ian, Russell and Lisa; one great-granddaughter, Heidi; and one sister, Muriel Duquet, of Kingston, Ont.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Merle Washburn (Dec. 30, 1942 – May 16, 1956).
Mildred was a secretary at Alcan Ltd., for a number of years. She enjoyed a wealth of activities, such as serving as past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch No. 209, in Arvida, Que. She was an avid golfer, fisherman, curler, and bowler, as well as enjoying darts and playing bridge.
Mildred will be missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends, all of whom are invited to attend a graveside committal service at St. George Rural Cemetery at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, with Rev. Canon David Genge officiating.
