Madeline Agnes Gordon

Peacefully, at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB on March 5, 2004, Mrs. Madeline Agnes (Bonvillain) Gordon, wife of the late John Adolph Gordon, who was formally of Stephenville, Nfld. Born in Houma, Louisiana on May 18, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Effie (Gautraux) Bonvillain. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, Madeline is survived by three daughters, Joyce (Edward) Sampson of Ottawa,ON; Kitty (Timmy) Martin of Beaver Harbour, NB and Karen Gordon (Michael Kernighan) of Blacks Harbour, NB; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Verlin Bonvillain; four sisters, Grace Lyons, Hallet Moreau, Wilma and Marion Bonvillain, all of Houma, Louisiana; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Shirley Marie Matheson; two sons, Carl James Gordon and John (Ike) Gordon; one sister, Conseleau Bonvillain.

Madeline loved sewing, gardening and quilting. She especially enjoyed her family. She was always putting others first and was a very devoted Christian. She was especially proud of becoming a Canadian Citizen in 1972.

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755-3533), with visiting on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 pm. The service will be held at The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel, at the funeral home, on Friday, March 12, 2004 at 3:00 pm with Father Bill Brennan officiating. Interment at the Second Falls Community Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, or an act of kindness towards someone in memory of Madeline, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
