Jason Michael John Kernighan
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB, following an accident in
Pennfield on October 9, 2005, Jason Michael John Kernighan, 16, son of
Karen J. (Leavitt) Kernighan (Brian Noddin) and Michael D.
Kernighan (Karen Gordon) of Blacks Harbour. Born in Saint John, NB on
January 29, 1989, Jason is survived, besides his parents, by a sister, Amanda,
of Blacks Harbour, maternal grandfather, Vance Leavitt of Pennfield,
paternal grandmother, Doris Kernighan of St. George; aunts, Kathy Leavitt
(Todd), Heather Hooper, Ethel Smith, Pearl Haley and Sharon
Montgomery; uncles, Kevin (Laura), Cory Leavitt, Gary Kernighan, David
Kernighan, and John Kernighan; and several cousins. He was pre-deceased by his
maternal grandmother, Joan Leavitt and paternal grandfather, John Kernighan.
Jason was a loving son who enjoyed mechanics and fixing the bikes of the
neighbourhood’s kids. He was a student of Fundy High School and loved
motorcycles and snowmobiles. Resting at Cornerstone Tabernacle, St. George from
where the service will take place at 2 pm on Thursday, October 13th, with Pastor
Calvin MacDonald officiating. Visiting at the church on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and
Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
Donations in Jason’s memory may be made to the Charlotte County Cancer Society.
