Gordon Howard Cook
Surrounded by his loving family, the death of Mr. Gordon Howard Cook, 82,
husband of the late Fanny Etta (McLeese) Cook, occurred on February 8th,
2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Born in Back Bay, NB
on October 18, 1922, he was a son of the late Lorenzo Earl and Melvina Merinda
Cook.
A loving father, grandfather and brother, Gordon is survived by one son, Rev.
Gordon Cook Jr. (Anne) of Back Bay; two daughters, Juanita Faye Cook of Back Bay
and Candis Jean Cook of Calgary, AB; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one
brother, Manford Cook (Irene) of Back Bay; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Earl, Roland and Marvin; and three
sisters, Georgia, Nellie and Lillian.
Gordon spent his life as a fisherman and employee of Connors Bros. Ltd., as a
Shipping Room foreman, for 40 years. He was a member of Sea View Full Gospel
Church for 50 years, and was a great outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt.
Resting at Sea View Full Gospel Church, Back Bay, from where the service will be
held on Thursday, February 10th at 4:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Gary Hanley.
Interment to take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. Visiting
at the church on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordon’s memory may be made to the Cancer
Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
