Georgia Myrtle Drost
Suddenly, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB, Mrs. Georgia Myrtle
(Hatt) Drost, 98, of Chamcook, NB, wife of the late Leon Oswald Drost,
occurred on Sunday, January 2, 2005.
Born in Lake Utopia, NB, on December 15, 1906, she was a daughter of the late
Curtis and Flossie (Holland) Hatt. Georgie is survived by two
sons, Otis Taylor (Prudy) Barry of Maine and Vance (Marlene) Barry
of British Columbia; one daughter, Frances Anthony of Pennfield; two
step-sons, Ralph (Florence) Drost of Lepreau and Sherman (Wilma) Drost
of Alberta; two step-daughters, Marion Balser (Larry) of Oromocto and
Juanita Cooke (Davis) of Utopia; one brother, Harley (Eudora) Hatt
of Pennfield; two sisters, Blanche (Arvard) Tracy of Utopia and Joan
Hart (Bruce) of Nova Scotia; 8 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren;
several step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Leon, Georgie was pre-deceased by one daughter, Gertrude
Anthony; brothers and sisters; and her first husband, Otis Barry.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB
(755-3533), with visiting on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9
pm. The service will be held at The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the St.
George funeral home on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 2 pm. Interment will follow
at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Donations to a charity of the donor’s choice
would be appreciated by the family.
