Blois Preston Cooke
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on July 3, 2011, Mr. Blois Preston Cooke of Back Bay NB. Born at Back Bay NB on March 13, 1932, he was a son of the late Jesse and Pansy (Taylor) Cooke. A loving brother and uncle, Blois is survived by one sister, Helena Cooke of Back Bay NB and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by six brothers; Kingston Cooke, Donald Cooke, Walter Cooke, Reid Cooke, Guilford Cooke and Eldon Cooke and by two sisters; Beulah Mitchell and Thelma Cooke.

Prior to his retirement, Blois worked various jobs within the fishing industry finally settling as a Clammer until his retirement. He had a fond love for dogs, especially his dog Taffy who was his world. In his leisure time, he enjoyed going for walks to the beach, watching a Bluejay’s game on TV or hearing the local fishing stories from his nephew Tony. Blois loved to be with his family and friends and will always be remembered fondly when someone says the words, “I don’t know.”

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating followed by the interment at the Back Bay Community Cemetery, Crow Island NB. Visiting at the funeral home will take place on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Blois’ memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
