LEAVITT, MARINER BERNARD - Unexpectedly at the Fundy Health Center, Black's Harbour, NB, on January 8, 2001, Mr. Mariner Bernard Leavitt of Beaver Harbour, NB. Husband of Barbara Jane (Maxwell) Leavitt. Born in Back Bay on December 29, 1938, he was a son of Rebecca (Harris) Leavitt of Back Bay and the late Roscoe Leavitt. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, his mother, one daughter, Brenda, Mrs. Norman Lambert of Blacks Harbour; two grandchildren, Angel and Matthew; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his father, he was predeceased by one brother, Royce and one niece, Winnifred Leslie.
    An avid sportsman, Mariner loved the outdoors. He enjoyed basketball and hunting. He was a member of the Beaver Harbour United Baptist Church.
    Resting at Sea View Full Gospel Church in Back Bay from where the service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. with Reverend Bruce Alcorn and Pastor Gordon Cooke Jr. officiating. Interment in the Back Bay Community Cemetery in the spring. Visiting at the Church on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In his memory, donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
