The Old cemetery.
Note: There used to be a rather different gray stone on the driveway going to the back of the church, it would be across from the left back end of the main part of the church (not the vestry that is attached to the back). I believe that stone was taken away recently. Here is my people the stone represents:
#1. CHARLES MCPIKE, born in Tyrone, Ireland, immigrated to Canada in 1831 and settled on the “Old, Original” Saint John Road, Camp Utopia Army camp was on part of this land in WWII. Charles was born about 1781 in Dramore Co. Tyrone. He died Aug. 07, 1865. Wife ROSANNA McKOHAN McPike, born about 1793 in Dirby, N.Ireland, died in 1854. They had three children: Hugh, married Rosanna Mealey and raised a family at Utopia; Richard married Amelia Patten and raised a family in Waite, Maine; Catherine married Alfred Spinney and raised a family in Pennfield.
Note: These graves below are right behind the Catholic Church and beside the stone for the priest, Fr. Quinn. No stone for this McPike family ever existed.
#2. HUGH McPIKE, son of Charles McPike & Rosanna McKohan was born in Ireland in 1829, came to St. George area in 1831. Hugh McPike died December 21, 1895. Wife, Rosanna Mealey McPIKE, daughter of Charles MEALEY & Margaret HUGHES, born June 25, 1832, in Saint John, NB., died in March 1917. Their three youngest children died young and buried here, they are Emelia (b.1872); Hugh, (b.1876) and Lill, (b.1878.
Their older children were: Charlie, b.1860, m. Mary Ellen Riordan Apr. 24, 1883, moved to Stillwater, MN, six daughters; Margaret, b.1862, m.
