Burton “Sonny” Henry Armstrong
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB following a brief illness,
Mr. Burton “Sonny” Henry Armstrong, companion of Elizabeth M. (Clinch)
Taylor of St. George. Born in St. George, NB on May 21, 1927, he was the
son of the late John D. and Bessie Irene (Henry) Armstrong. A
loving companion, father, grandfather and brother, he is survived, besides
Elizabeth, by two sons, Garry (Doris) Armstrong of King City, ON and Blake
Armstrong of Beaver Harbour; three daughters, Joan Padillo of Milton, ON,
Judy (Bruce) Dodd of St. Catherines, ON and Dianne (Leonard) Allan
of Acton, ON; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three sisters,
Jeanne Young and Jacqueline (Walter) Balasiuk, both of St. George,
and Barbara (Caleb) Ginivan of Franklin, Mass.; several nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Sonny worked construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Warren Paving and
Irving Equipment for most of his working life. In later years, he owned and
operated Armstrong’s Store in Beaver Harbour until its closure.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St.
George, NB from where the service will be held on Thursday, November 25th, at 2
pm, with Rev. Charles Yerxa officiating, followed by interment in the St. George
Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm,
and Thursday morning from 10 till 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to a
charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
