HOOPER, ANDREW JOSEPH

At the Saint John Regional Hospital in May 15, 2001, Mr. Andrew Joseph Hooper, husband of the later Doris May (Leslie) Hooper of Back Bay, NB.  Born in Back Bay, NB on July 23, 1929, he was a son of the late Andrew V. Hooper and Marion (Hatt) Hooper of Blacks Harbour.  A loving father and grandfather, Andrew is survived by his daughter, Lorena, Mrs. George Kernighan Jr. of Back Bay;  his mother Marion Hooper of Blacks Harbour;  two granddaughters;  Florence Waycott and her companion Jody Norton of McAdam and Mary Beth Kernighan of Back Bay;  four great grandchildren, Quintin Leavitt, Natalie Cooke, Tristen Cooke and Savannah Kernighan;  three brothers, Sheldon (Theresa) of Back Bay, Rufus (Anita) and Alfred (Brenda) both of St. George;  two sisters:  Pauline, Mrs. Wayne Vance of St. George and Etta Price of Doaktown and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides his wife and father, Andrew is predeceased by one brother Fraser.  Andrew was an avid bird lover who enjoyed the outdoors and passing the time with his cat Tigress.

At Andrew's request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home.  A memorial service will be held at his residence at 14 Madison Drive in Back Bay on Friday at 2 p. m. with Pastor Gordon Cooke Jr. officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB.
